Here at Lima Fist Church of the Nazarene we are big believers in the power of camp. There are countless stories about how an encounter with God during camp changed a life. It’s amazing what God does in our lives when we purposely set aside time to be with Him. Check out these camps and see which one works best for you and your family.
District Camp Meeting “The Gathering” This is held at our District Camp Grounds just outside of Saint Mary’s, staring on June 9th and ending on June 16 in 2019. There are many things going on here with events and sessions for all ages, & childcare is provided for many of the services. We will place a link here when the event page is up.
Mount Lookout Camp. This is another family camp; however, it also has a children’s camp and a youth camp that happens at the same time, July 12th-21st 2019. Mount Lookout is a Holiness camp where many churches who share a Holiness background come together to worship and peruse God. In 2019 the evangelist will be Dr. Hotle Our church is heavily involved with Mount Lookout as a number of our pastors and congregation serve on the board and are volunteers during the various camps. Portage Holiness Camp. Portage Holiness Camp is a non-denominational camp meeting founded in 1878. They have "Camp Meeting" over a ten-day period each August. The 2019 Camp Meeting dates are August 1 - 11, with a pre-camp concert scheduled for 7 pm on Wednesday, July 31. Click here for more information.
CHILDREN/ YOUTH CAMPS
The Nazarene District offers several camps for children and teens. For children they are dived into three camps by age; Primary being for those who have completed 1st and 2nd grade, Middler for those who have completed 3rd and 4th grades, and the Pre-Teen for the 5th and 6th grades. These camps take place in late July with registration starting in May. Click here for more information.
Our District offers a teen camp called C4. This camp is a combined effort between the Northwestern Ohio and East Ohio districts of the Church of the Nazarene. It takes place each year in early to mid-summer and is for Teenagers grades seven through twelve
The camp takes place at Camp Cotubic, outside of Bellefontaine, OH (www.campcotubic.com). In addition to the main spiritual purpose stated below, this camp includes waterfront activities (swimming, boating, fishing, THE BLOB, water trampoline, etc), climbing wall, ropes course, zip line, outdoor sporting activities, crazy-gross games, talent shows, food, friends, and much, much more. Mount Lookout Children’s Camp. This camp is a three-day two night camp, with lots of fun activities, games, and of course smores and bon-fires. 2019’s theme will be Overcoming our Spiritual Giant’s. This camp is for students that have completed kindergarden-6th grade. They are also excited to announce that the Giant Water Slide is returning this year!
